Curious, I have raggtop and have not yet put it on my new '07. I did use it on my '95 and did not mask anything. I just wiped the overspray immediately. Is there any real damage done by the overspray? thanks.
I don't know for certain. I just didn't want the mess to clean up. I did it once before about 3 months ago or something like that and I only covered part of it just beyond the windshield. When I was done the finish had overspray all over it. So I had to use detailing spray and wipe it all off. I did mine in the garage with the door closed. This time even though I covered it up I had the garage door open. Fans on both times though.
Just didn't want to hassle with it getting all over everything. And this was my trick to doing it.
I was just looking around when i came upon this. Isn't this the company that makes the vette top? They recommend this brush. Not trying to start trouble just want to be sure we have best brush.
Just goofing off this afternoon. Applied the Ragg Topp sealant. Here's some pictures of the vert sealed off with 1mm plastic dropcloths. I used some painters tape and some paper under the direct edge area of application and then slipped the plastic (new only) over the rear and front with the top collasped up and folded it down on the plastic. Sealed it off pretty good and tapped off the rear window and side weatherstrip.
Top should be good to go for a few more months of summer!
after a couple coats:
Done and ready to remove the prep work

At ACE, they keep it in the isle with the other car products.
It is sold for use in washing your paint, but I would NEVER use any brush on the paint.
For birdbombs, just spray with a water bottle first - let the water sit on it for a few minutes, then jet it off with a hose, or use your brush. You'll see that not much sticks to the fabric if it's protected by Raggtopp.

No there is not.
if it gets on the paint, you can use a quick detailer and cotton towel to remove it. It may cause your wax to smear, though, so best to make some small effort to protect the paint (like just lay a beach towel over the trunk area when you spray).
No harm to the glass - comes right off with any window cleaner.
