Funny thing...I found just the opposite. I did the cd scratch test with a bunch of MFs a while ago. I found the blue Microtex to be the worst and the orange towels from Target to be very good.
Maybe it has to do with inconsistency.
I tried the cd scratch test with many microfiber types and even some 100% supima cotton towels. The only ones I have personally not seen scratch a cd other than the 100% cotton towels are Adam's microfiber.
The Microtex mf towels from Walmart were one of the worst. I haven't tried the ones from Target yet though. I've read the orange ones at Target are good, the grey ones not as good.
In my view, the gray ones (4pk?)from Target are better (softer and thicker)than the orange ones(8pk?) from Target. I did not do the cd test. The gray ones were $6.99 if I remember correctly. The Adams ones are the best I have seen. softer and thicker.

Maybe it was the grey ones I read that are better, now I'm confused.

The CD test is a bunch of cr*p. There is no standard for manufacturing CDS - some are better than others. There is no consistancy to how hard one may rub with a MF towel on a CD, to look for scratching etc... There are so many uncontrollable variables, it can not be considered a test IMO. I would not buy MF from Target....I would trust Adams as they specialize more in car care
Hey folks, be very careful on what brand of microfiber towel you are using. Some time ago I learned a very valuable lessen when using a less expensive towel. While polishing a highly polished aluminum radiator with a less expensive brand, you would not believe the number small scratches as a result of the towel. Just think what they do to clearcoat. I now use the expensive large size (16 x 27 ) from a company called Showtime Auto Accessories at a cost of around $14.00 each.
I really like the MF towels from Adams. Good sized, super plush, made in Korea, and great service.
I purchased some towels from AG that claimed Korea made. Turns out they were labeled China.
Adams user here, too. I have about 6 of them; use 3 for each car and 'front-loader' wash/dry them after every use w/NO fabric softener. They are in very good shape after many washings.
Another auto-forum that I visit has a similar thread. For an OTC towel some people like the Viking products sold at K-mart. They do feel nice and soft too. The orange ones at Target seem a little thin, they could have changed suppliers over the years?
Please show where you (or anyone else from AG) have previously asked for proof. Since you've asked now, I'm gladly attaching pictures of the towels and receipt.

I DID!!! Right after receiving the order I filled out your feedback card with extensive comments and information about the problem and my dissatisfaction. I've yet to get a reply or even an acknowledgment from anyone at AG. Curiously, your website did change to reflect the correct country of manufacture one week after I sent AG my comments - I'm glad they were at least read. In the big scheme of things it's not a biggie - was an initial small $20 order to get a feeling.
That's amazing that one has to go trough that trouble (posting pictures etc...,) to get an issue with a vendor resolved ? Aren't the feedback card enough
