there are actually quite a bit of difference, from where they were designed (typically China or Korea), to the makeup of the MF. There is also the number of strands and quality of the towel.

I prefer microfiber towels from Korea myself as they're supposed to be of higher quality.

Yes and No.... I have tested total junk from Korea and China. The current set I have settled on has some incredible towels from China and the Waffle Weaves are from Korea.

The world of Microfiber is completely different from the cotton towel world.
Many people prefer the Waffle Weaves for drying a car as they have a tendency to absorb more water per square inch. But I would not use one on a dirty/dusty car as it has little to nap to absorb the dirt.

I feel a thin nap is better for polish removal, as it has a tendency to get closer to the finish and makes it easier to pull the polish off. A thinner napped towel is alos better to use for detail spray on a just cleaned car.
I have found a thicker napped towel has a tendency to glide over the top of the polish, and it takes more effort to pull the polish off.
However a thicker napped towel is much better for using detail spray on a dusty car. It will pull the dust into the towel and away from the paint surface.

Many of the "inexpensive towels will have a glued or melted corner. I have somewhere around 60+ rejected samples, that most had this defect.
Manufacturer's material mix can also be designated pre weave - That means the material goes into the weaver at 80/20 but will lose the softer material during the creation, really making it and 82-85/18-15 versus sending into the weaver at 75/25 and the end result is an 80/20 mix. It also lowers cost as they do not have to use as much supplemental material with the Polyester.
Unfortunately there are no real standards that a manufacturer must adhere to, so it gets pretty messy.

I have had a run of fantastic towels for over a year, only to get the next shipment subtlety changed and will not pass the tests I put them through.
So, bottom line you get what you pay for, inexpensive towels may not be the correct content mix and scratch, they may also have glued edges versus sewn as that also cuts manufacturing costs.
I could babble on some more, but you get the idea.

I really like the MF towels from Adams. Good sized, super plush, made in Korea, and great service.

I purchased some towels from AG that claimed Korea made. Turns out they were labeled China.

you have claimed this once prior, and we have asked for proof as possible, with no further contact. We do not try to misrepresent any product, and more than willing to replace/refund and repair if we truly made an error. Please contact us as possible ...

You get what you pay for - I do not have a name of a particular brand but I have bouht my MF from Autogeeks - whatever they recommended as a better quality. I would not begin to compare them to other MF towels (Costco) I made the mistake of buying. Good luck

Please show where you (or anyone else from AG) have previously asked for proof. Since you've asked now, I'm gladly attaching pictures of the towels and receipt.

I DID!!! Right after receiving the order I filled out your feedback card with extensive comments and information about the problem and my dissatisfaction. I've yet to get a reply or even an acknowledgment from anyone at AG. Curiously, your website did change to reflect the correct country of manufacture one week after I sent AG my comments - I'm glad they were at least read. In the big scheme of things it's not a biggie - was an initial small $20 order to get a feeling.

thank you for the pics and I dont remember the original manufacturer of the blue glass towels. I believe the website was actually updated when we went to the white colored WW MF Glass towels.

Either way, we offer a guarantee and I have asked the home office to get in touch with you to repair or resolve as possible. Please consider a call as possible in future as I truthfully dont know how fast the feedback gets into the right hands. Jason and Meghan are always available, and we truly have a great relationship with Corvetteforum and its members. Please let me know if you are not contacted within next 24-48 hours.

These are what I use. They clean up nicely and last a long time; after repeated washings they're still just as soft.

There is some information available somewhere on the forum that tells in detail the types microfiber and their qualities. It may have been on the Autoqeek site. It was very informative.

I've tried many brands and find the blue plush MF sold by Adam's to be the best for the money. A little pricey but the do a great job and can be washed over and over.

Our microfiber manufacturer has factories both in china and Korea. The microfiber material comes from the Korea factory and it’s then taken to the factory in china to get assembled.

Adam's new super plush blue with black border are my absolute favorites. They're fantastic. Too bad they're $13 a piece, but I recently picked three up at the buy two get one free special.

I also like Cobra super plush, Pakshak plush, and Meguiar's Supreme Shines for misc. cleaning duties around the car (under the hood, wheels, wheel wells, exhaust, rocker panels, etc.)

I actually found that the Microfiber towels sold at Wally World (Microtex) to be fairly good towels.

I have also used the waffle-weave and they, too, are very very nice.

I was not overly impressed with the Cobra MF towels that I tried.

The worst MF towel that I have used is the ones from Target. Pieces of crap.

Funny thing...I found just the opposite. I did the cd scratch test with a bunch of MFs a while ago. I found the blue Microtex to be the worst and the orange towels from Target to be very good.

Maybe it has to do with inconsistency.
