Car Polishing
I have a BLACK 07 Vette; only 5 months old. I've heard many stories in the past that you shouldn't wax or polish your car until it has been "seasoned" by the air or "fully dried out" until after a length of time. Does this still hold true? If so, what length of time have any of you heard that one should wait?
And finally, what kind of wax or polish do you consider the best for our black beauty's? I'm sure there are great different polishes/waxes for different colors, price is not an option.

I also have a Black...I have tried a few and landed on Adams. Easy to apply, and looks great. People tend to be passionate about all different products, but the best advice I can give is to try and few for yourself and get a PC if dont already have one.

This will probably get moved to the car care section but I would familiarize yourself with the following for your black C6:
Porter Cable 7424 (PC) and Edge or LCC pads (I prefer Edge)
Zaino ZPC and Menzerna IP or SIP
Adam's microfiber towels
Rejex, or Zaino's sealants (Z2, Z5pro)
I use these products after a good wash with Optimum No Rinse (ONR) and a claybar depending on if the paint needs it. Good luck.

A car is immediately ready for proper prep (wash, clay, polish, and protecting) once it hits the dealers lot. Best bet is to start immediately and keep her in good shape. Get a nice buffer, some nice products, and enjoy the hobby !

The best thing you can do for your car is to get addicted to this Forum. We are! You can learn anything you want in here about fixing things and proper maintenance. But do read past threads about using polishes, the 7424 buffer, sealants, microfiber towels. There are plenty of very relevant threads in the past, even just within 6 months.
Good luck, and congrats!
