MIP dusting ?
I am going to use some MIP soon, and as I recall I was creating some dust last time I used it. Does that mean I was working it too long?

most polishes do some minor dusting at the end, when turning from paste to a translucent talc or powder consistency. Wiping with a damp towel usually does the trick, and helps to verify the panel is done , and does not need additional polishing.

A pad conditioner is formulated to reduce dry friction between the foam or wool buffing pad and the vehicle surface. Reducing friction will also greatly extend the life of the pads.
