I have been doing my own home detailing for a while now. Started on the Vette with Adams...and love their products. Decided to try out Zaino (wofey bought a kit of X-Mas, she's so good to me!) and tried it out for the first time yesterday. Loved the results of the Zaino...brilliant shine and luster and brought out the depth of the Monterey Red color on my C-6. Looks like Adam's Brilliant Spray Glaze with a durable finish to it.
Questions is: I've kicked around the idea of a UDM or PC for serious detail work. Do either of these machines match up with Zaino products?? As I've already done the first Zaino shot, and plan on more would applying a polish with a PC or UDM be counter-productive?
Zaino does make a polish called Fusion, and it can be used with a buffer like the PC/UDM. I would suggest Menzerna 106FF over it, as more versatile. Then you can coat with your protection of choice as wanted/needed.
I would not use the buffer to apply/remove sealant unless health issues suggest it. First, Zaino is quite easy to apply and remove, and second you'll likely waste more product.
If you decide on a buffer, look us up and the kits. We carry the PC/UDM/G110/and Cyclo.
I used my PC once with a gray pad to apply Z5P to see how it would do.
I used very little product, but saw no upside to using it. I have since gone back to applying Z sealants by hand.
The PC with ZPC is a different story though. I would recommend a PC to anybody.
Great advice from Autogeek above.
just realize that the Zaino products you're using (Z5, Z2, Clearseal) are not abrasive polishes, so you cannot improve their results by using a machine.
Use the PC only if you have tiny scratches that you need to remove.
if you do not have swirlmarks, scratches, then no need to use the pC at all now.
But one day you will want it, so it's a good time to start reading up on how to use it, and looking for a deal. Autgeek has some good videos. SEveral other places on the web have good free videos as well - adamspolishes.com has good ones.
Also when bored, check my web page: http://bugmanweb.com and you can get my own opinion on how to get started easily with no nonsense (not a paid or commercial site).
Bugman - thanks for the input. I don't see a lot of spiderwebs or light scratches in normal light...of course haven't put the car under the "hot" lights yet!
Again thanks for the great info...lots of research to do!!!
Do folks use the PC for buffing the wax/polishes after they have cured? I know you can get MF bonnets and I figure that's the intention of them.
I use the PC for paint correction only, since Zaino is more wisely applied and removed by hand. But if you're using wax, since it's a thicker layer that is used, a PC would allow a more uniform and quick application as well as help removal and buffing afterwards, esp. with some of the waxes that are a little stickier. Some people just throw a microfiber towel over the pad and remove the wax that way. An orbital "vibrates" as much as it rotates, esp. if the rotational movement is restricted in that manner.

Thanks in advance!!
how do you like the Adams Brilliant Glaze? how often do you use it?
I love the BSG. Excellent wet finish when dry, real easy to apply. My previous regiment was a good wash and dry with my leaf blower followed with full spray and wipe with Quick Detailer and BSG.

you can use a finishing pad alone, or even some bonnets. While most waxes/sealants are easy to remove, this can help for those that just dont want to spend the time or want a bit of help. Just remember the PC should not be used at high speed for removal.
