I recently bought the Flex buffer with the ceramic kit from Autogeek. I thought it would be good to get some practice in since I have no experience with a buffer. I refinished my targa top and am thrilled with the results. The Flex worked great and I learned a lot on this project. The most important thing I learned is how important it is to have good light. I'm going to have to invest in some light before I attempt the paint on the Vette.

Hey looks great 510 It's always nice to see such an improvement so soon after a project is completed. You'll have to post more pics after you finish the whole car.
Nice results ... look for a small xenon Brinkmann Dual Light as possible as its easy to use and I find a nice tool that will not break the bank either.
Great results! The dual halogens eat up a LOT of electricity. I use 4, 2- bank flourescents hung at the outside quarters of where my car will be detailed, so most of the side panels are always lit. Then, I use a single halogen to check work periodically since the two types of light actually show flaws that the other doesn't, I find.

I'm anxious to use it on the rest of the car. Time to say goodbye to all those little scratches and swirls.
just make sure to use the best washing and drying techniques to avoid adding them back. Its rather easy once you are so inclined, as is buffing itself.
Hi There:
Nice job on the targa top. Looks great. You will want good lightning before you detail your vette.
The dual halogen lights mounted on a tripod stand is nice.Lowes has this item for about $ 28. Utilitech, 1000 watt worklight p/n 199382.Nice lightning & adjustable height. I also bought the following items as I wanted to mount a small conduit box( called a 1/2 c assy straight no left or right) and use a push button on/off switch. I attached the assy to the front of the curved handle.I didn't want to be running over to the outlet to pull the extension cord plug to turn off the lights. The cord that comes with the light assy is very short. I cut that plug end off while leaving enough wire to splice together with a 25 ft. cord in the center of the conduit box. Removed the front cover & drilled a hole in the center to allow the p/button switch to come thru the cover plate. I also drilled a hole in the back side of the conduit box(in the center) so I could mount the conduit hanger clamp.(attaches to the light frame.) I bought the following items: 1/2 c assy. p/n 108592, Two cord grip connectors 1/2" p/n 49211, one 1/2" conduit hanger with bolt p/n 49100, one push button switch with leads p/n77580 total cost $16.43. I had a extra 25ft. drop light cord in my garage that I used.So you will need to buy that.

Thanks for the info. I actually stopped by Lowe's on the way home tonight and bought the $30 dual halogen lights. They are forecasting 50 degree weather here over the weekend so I know I will be out the polishing.

I would advise to ground the box and make sure that it is protected by a GFCI.
