Default Flex DOA

I've heard nothing but good things about the Flex XC 3401 VRG. Ordered one and got it in yesterdays. I plugged it in and squeezed the power button. It rotated about a quarter of a turn and stopped but the motor was still humming. My first thought, just my d**n luck. I unscrewed the backing plate and removed it. One of the gear housing screws was out of its hole and lodge between the housing and the orbiting gear. No doubt, a quality control issue. I freed the screw, put it back in its hole and TIGHTENED it down.

I plugged it back in, turned it on and everything worked. Use my 100,000 mile ex-company car as a mule and proceeded to play with my new toy. I’m looking forward to getting serious with it. I’ve still got the ex-company mule and my wife’s two cars to perfect my skills on before I let it loose on my Vette.

Obviously keep an eye on that screw. Hopefully it works fine for you.

Excellent idea to practice a little first. I have now done two cars with my flex and I know I'm ready for the vette. Now I just have to get moving on it!

I'm not familiar with the FLex or screw in mention, but you may want to locktite it to prevent it from backing out in the future.

sounds like the old built on Monday or Friday syndrome, one guy had the hangover from weekend and other left early. Sorry to hear your issues, and hope you are Flexing in no time !

We're have to get together one day an experiment on yours. You know black will show any mistakes. That way we can work out all the mistakes before we try it out on mine.
