Just ordered some Rejex for the 1st time. Can I use my buffer to apply it, or should I apply it by hand, using microfiber Towel?
Thanks for the help
I have used Rejex for years and I suggest doing it by hand. It goes on very easy, and comes off just as easy. Leave it on for about an hour, then remove it. Let the car sit in a closed garage for 12-24 hrs. Then apply another coat (optional). Make sure you put it on glass and wheels also, it's good stuff.
Most paint sealants (synthetic waxes) are easy enough to be added and buffed off by hand. The rule is to remember light and thin coat. More is not better, just harder to remove and likely wasted product not longer protection.
If you do decide to use the buffer, consider a non-abrasive pad and lower speeds. I would still either buff off residue by hand (after allowing to cure per manufacturers directions) or use a Microfiber bonnet to remove.
I've tried applying it with a foam pad on a Porter Cable Dual Action Polisher, and it is tough to apply it that way. The Rejex goes on much better by hand.
Never used rejex myself but I applied Z2 once via PC/black pad.
Used very little product and it came out fine but saw no up side to it.
Have applied by hand every other time.
Using a machine buffer would be an over kill and not neccessary when using non-abrasive sealants such as Rejex, Z-2, etc. By hand is the recommended method.
