Default NXT application tips needed

I'm giving NXT 2.0 liquid wax a shot, and I need some tips on how to apply it thin enough. My problem is that I will put a dime size spot of NXT on my pad and then I will smooth it out with my finger. The spot where I first place my pad on my hood will have the thickest amount of product, and I can never spread the product out well enough to make a "barely visible" even layer. There will be thick spots and streaks here and there that never spread as thin as needed. Will a applicator pad moist with quick detailer or distilled water help or harm the products final finish? I am also considering trying Ultimate Liquid Wax in the future for longevity. Thanks in advance.

I apply it with a polishing pad on my DA polisher.
I prime the pad and press it onto the car in serval places on a panel to distribute the product before turning the polisher on..

Do NOT wet the applicator with anything else.
It will interfere with curing of the sealant.

I just pour a quarter size on the appicator and spread it out over a section, and keep repeating the process. Let it dry and wipe it off with a micro fiber towel and you should be good.

Maybe you are applying too much pressure. When applying any wax (unless a cleaner wax), you don't really need to apply that much pressure. You are not trying to remove any imperfections (like a polish) but add protection.

Are you using a foam applicator ... if so, it should be easy. Straight lines back and forth.

I draw a straight line across the pad and butter it out with my finger some. As others have said wipe lightly. I don't use NXT any longer but it's a good product and if I remember correctly it comes off easy if you put it on a little too heavy.
