Default How cold does it have to be to not wash your Vette?

I wash my vette every Thursday when the sun is setting but today was just a little too cold.

It was high 50 degrees at the time. I know that's not that cold for a lot of you guys but it's cold when you live in L.A.

And I refuse to take it to a carwash.

32. When the water freezes, there's no point.

depending upon how dirty the vehicle is, and if there is access to a garage, you could always perform a "rinseless" or "waterless" wash year round........................

i've washed wifes daily driver at below 25 degrees f . put it in garage to thaw so i could dry it . vettes never get out in below freezing temps . i've started doing rinseless wash in garage this fall and really like it . it seems easier than conventional washing and the product leaves an AWESOME shine . try it you will be pleased . . peace

When you can no longer feel your fingers, it might be best to stop or at least warm the water first. I have washed car's in the high 50's without issue.

I probably skip January. That's rainy season here anyhow. the dew point is tough to stay ahead of in San Diego as there is always enough humidity to mess the dry cycle up when the sun gets low.

Living up here on the central coast of Oregon, when it is below 45f, I don't wash the C7. I always use hot water, as I cannot allow my hands to get chilled due to Raynaud's Syndrome.

As a result, I am often(like today, 38f) driving a very dirty car. Guess that's why I bought a white one.

In my younger and crazier days, I'd agree 100% with you. But I've gotten older, so I don't do that anymore. Anything below 35-37*, and the car doesn't get washed....the "winter car", that is, The Corvette NEVER comes out in the winter.

I most certainly like to drive a clean car, but for me, it's FAR more important to keep as much of the salt off the car as possible, in the winter. BUT below freezing, the salt doesn't really do anything but sit there. As soon as it warms above freezing, however, the hose and bucket come out....
