I washed my new car today with dawn as I was going to use a prep mitt and nanoskin sponge and start the polishing process. As I was doing the "baggie test", I noticed a very light film of pollen on the entire surface of the car. I was going to use the prep mitt with the dawn for lubrication but instead put the car in the garage and quit for the day. It just starting pollen season so there is no way I can wash the the car without getting more on it. Any thoughts on how to proceed? Is there a safe way to remove it other than washing? I could use the surface mitt with a quick detailer spray for lube once the pollen is gone. After the mitt, the plan is to polish the paint with a DA and seal the paint. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Your concern is well placed...pollen can be pretty abrasive.
If you can keep the pollen out of your garage, I would do a rinseless wash and immediately proceed with your planned detail. Do everything in the garage with the door closed.
BTW, I'm not so sure about using Dawn on a car for anything, much less as a lube for a clay alternative. Detail spray, or whatever the mitt supplier recommends, would be better.
Rinseless, or even waterless, should solve the isse with the pollen. And keeping the car inside the garage.

Mike, Waterless wash along with a WW MF towel will do you a great job removing the pollen.
