How do you all like black. I know it’s sick when spotless. How about in between washes? Thanks.
I've had two black cars. I will not, ever, have another one. They are beautiful when detailed. Then the dust starts to settle. Then the fingerprints. And when you get door dings (OK, maybe not a vette problem) or chips, or if you even have less than perfect body work....that's all you see.
To each their own, but no black for me. (let's skip the "black cars matter" humor......lol)
I have had my 15 since new and I still wouldn’t change it for any other color. The car just looks nasty in black. It really does look like it has an attitude and I love it.
That being said, its not my daily driver. I have had it ceramic coated and it sits in my garage most of the time. I do track it and the black does a great job of hiding the black marks from rubber chunks bouncing off the nose in traffic.
Black is the best looking --- and also the worst to take care of.
People sometimes forget that there are several other colors that will fall into this same boat but to a lesser degree as the color gravitates away from Black (like Midnite Blue Metallic or Long Beach Red Metallic are similar to Black requiring similar levels of care) and toward White, a light gray, or even a Silver Metallic

Yup. I have a few black vehicles and I live in Seattle. That's a lot of washing.
Nothing looks better when clean or is harder to keep that way. Best for a waxer, not a daily driver. Honest. Even with four black cars I still got Torch Red on the Corvette.
Have an unfortunate penchant for black cars. Like clean cars, don't like cleaning cars. Coating them has helped considerably with regards to staying cleaner longer, less washing.
All our cars get used, rained (yes, even the Corvette) on and then sit in sun on any given day. Much easier to deal with since coating.
I have 2 metallic black cars and wouldn't have anything else. Yes they are a bear to keep up on but car care products have come a long way to help keep them looking good. Just look back 10-15 years ago and there wasn't too much quality product to keep the color maintained. Everybody has their "go to" for product and I can keep mine looking pretty good for about a year before I have to correct the paint. Years ago you couldn't really go that long on black before you'd have to correct it all over again in IMHO.
Not anymore. Have had 3 black cars in a row. Decided to go with WGG this time. Much easier to keep clean. Black also shows tiny scratches to easily.
I had 4 black cars 3 of which were corvettes(l98, c4zr1 and c6z06) and went with the wgg this time as well. Love black cars but wgg is also a great color. It has some of the great aspects of a black car especially with the black accent and trim pieces. It is so easy to keep clean and doesn’t show dust or scratches . Very pleased with the color and paint finish on my 2017z.
just put the power stop z26 ceramic pads on. Drove the car about 100 miles between yesterday and today and the wheels stayed spotless. With the factory brembo pads my wheels would have been all sooty after 10 miles and brake dust on the side of car. I can not tell any difference in spirited street driving performance - maybe even a little better initial bite and they are quiet. Highly recommend these pads regardless of what color z06 you own.

I currently have three black cars and have had several before that. Black is gorgious when defect free and clean, if not it looks not so good. To maintain a black car properly you can do it yourself or pay a professional detailer to do it for you. If you do it yourself be prepared to spend about $500 on buffers, pads and products. The new ceramic products do help but just remember every time you touch it is will most likely micro scratch. I spend hours maintaining my black cars but I look it as therapy much more fun than paying a shrink. Oh! I forgot about being a dust magnet, just another issue to deal with. Gotta love that black!
Black is great if someone else takes care of your car. I have had two but am not sure I will get another unless I win the lottery and have a full time person to keep it clean and detailed or after I retire.
I only wax once or twice a year though. That monthly wax is really acting more of a glaze to fill in swirl marks and could be better done with 3M Hand Glaze or something similar, I think.
A California Duster and Zaino polish is all you need to keep black looking beautiful. Once you get the black paint really clean, it doesn't take much more work to keep it that way than any other color.
