buffer question
hey guys,
awhile back someone was talking about porter cable buffers . i think the model number was 7424 , but i'm not sure. there was a web site on where to buy them . can anyone help me out ????

Just a bit of information for what it is worth -
In the recent Griot's Garage catalog I received , on page 21, they offer a Porter Cable Random Buffer for $199.95. In a note in their ad they say " Be warned that other companies are selling the Random Orbital we offer with a cheaper backing plate that's made of plastic. Their mounting screw is molded into the plastic allowing transfer of heat from the machine, through the screw and plastic, into the pad and to your paint. This backing plate is rubber with holes that dissipate the heat. Thus, no heat build up in our pad, or on your paint."
