[window spots] update.... FAILURE
they have been there ever since i got the car... you can only see them when the sun is shineing in and you are lookin at the right angle...
its all over my windshield and on my headlights too...
here are some pics...
ive tried everything... clay, steelwool #0000, windex, 409, powdered cleaner (Ajax), 3M S&SR, and fingernail scratching... it isnt coming out!!!

Some of our Vettes got "soft" glass from the factory, and they're prone to "sandblasting" from stone and sand hitting the windshield at freeway speeds.
My 88 didn't have this problem; my 96 has got it bad.
Short of replacing the windshield, the best band-aid fix for me has been the glass polishing kit from Eastwood. It doesn't remove the pits completely ... rather, the abrasive polishes the pits to make them more transparant and less "dry/white," and thus less objectionable.
It's not a total or a perfect fix, but for $35 and an hour or two of work, I'm happy with the results.

Are you sure those are water spots? That looks like stone damage in the photos. :confused:
i have been pretty sure they arent water spots..always thought it was a contamination of some sort... or perhaps stone chips...
i thought at first it was like stubborn tree sap or sumthing.. but after all this.. i dunno what else it can be besides holes/pits in my window.:( is there no way to get them polished out with z-12??? or sumthing?
i really would like to no have them there... but dont want to replace the whole window or sumthing that big of a project.

If they are stone chips, you might check around your area for auto glass shops that advertise they can buff these out. Of do it yourself with the Eastwood kit. Z12, in my use of it, isn't intended to get rid of stone chips.
