How many Vette owners actually detail the underside of their vehicles?
I have my car up on quickjacks (inside) my garage, and I am entertaining this idea .
Is this crazy?
I would never use a pressure washer in the engine bay, would this be the same thought for the underside?
I like clean undersides

I don't drive my C8 during the winter so it doesn't get real dirty underside. However before I put it away for the winter I wash the underside....I spray foam under the car and and rinse it down well. I then blow dry it to get most of the water off it. Once in my heated garage and up on the Quick-Jack I crawl under and detail it. I know it sounds crazy but that's just me and the way I keep my car. I have two of these....one is set up to use a Foam Cannon with the larger nozzles. All wheels off and thoroughly detailed The underside is cleaned and buffed...ceramic coating is added. With the wheels off they are thoroughly cleaned, polished, and ceramic coating added to finish them off.
Nice! that is where I want to be.
I have the car about 7 years, previous owner didn't do much work to it.
I will have to wait for warmer weather to do a power wash on her in the driveway.
This road dirt residue is a bitch to get off totally.

Is the sprayer attached to a regular garden hose? I want to get one.
Thanks, I just purchased this today along with a foam cannon and a small Karcher PW
I have a large Karcher gas pressure washer for the heavy stuff around the house, this will be just for detailing.
Just to clarrify , after using my undercarriage washer on wheels, you want ALL the Pressure
You can throw at it...............A small elec or gas PW say one under 2500 PSI isnt going
to accomplish what most people expect.................

Just to make sure you understand this......the normal undercarriage washer with the small water nozzles will not handle the foam.....this is why I have two of them. The second one I use is made especially to handle the foam cannon with larger nozzles. You could shoot the undercarriage with your foam cannon first to get the foam dispersed under the car.....after it dwells for about 5 minutes or so then use the undercarriage tool with your washer. The only way to really clean the wheels is remove them from the car.....the undercarriage tool shoots water vertically making impossible to wash the wheels properly. Good luck....I know you will enjoy this process and the clean belly under your car. Here's a short video on a tool.....
Thank you, you just answered a question I was about to ask. "how to get the foam to go through the undercarriage washer"
I guess I will have to find a way to get the foam cannon underneath while on quickjacks.
Once a year I take all four wheels off to properly clean the barrels and powder coated calipers.
Thanks again
I wish I had a lift ...

This is the undercarriage tool that will work with the foam cannon.....
Kerosene soaked rags pull the road grime off really well.
you aint kidding! that did work well!
Its too cold here in NY to take her out and wash the underside with all the stuff I bought, in the meanwhile, I went under the car today and did just that with kerosene and it is a mass improvement.
If anything, this will make the wash that much easier.
Nice to see folks who actually wash their vehicles, you know what type of car it is when someone tells you it's never seen rain or been washed with water? A dirty car! lol
As moat of us know, to properly clean your Corvette under body is not an easy task if done correctly. Regardless of what generation you have the car must be on a lift or raised substantially and supported with jack stands to access the under body. All wheels must be removed and cleaned before ceramic coating. A pressure washer is your best bet for cleaning. First blast everything you can see. then, depending on how dirty the under body is, use a degreaser, Simple green, Dawn and other such cleaners to methodically start at the front and work your way to the rear of the car. After everything is clean to your satisfaction use a ceramic coating or a ceramic based spray detailer to keep it clean and to provide for future cleaning easier. This process can be as detailed as you want it and will take considerable time.
