Default Need Help!

I am detailing a tan GMC Jimmy and the driver's side mirror is defective and leaked oil on the drivers' door. I tried the basics to remove this stuff, including claybar and even rubbing compound, but no luck. What else can I try? and what kind of oil does GMC put in those mirrors?

You won't be able to generate enough heat by hand. The polishes and rubbing compounds today need to really heat up to be effective hence a random orbital buffer like the Porter Cable.

I would use a yellow colored pad and try Meguiar's or 3M paint cleaner. If the clay had no effect, this nasty oil has eaten into the clearcoat :cry

I you are yrying to remove the stain, do as MilYellow02 said. I have had this problem on 2 Jimmy's(95 &98) I have owned it the past. To get rid of them I had to use 3M Finesse II followed by 3M Swirl Mark Remover with my Porter Cable 7424 polisher.
