Washing the vert yesterday and I noticed little white spots on the black top.
I went ahead this AM and ordered the Raggtop Cleaner/conditioner.
But I was wondering, how do you clean your top? When I used the Lamb mit it leaves fibers, so I have stopped doing that as I think lint on a vert looks like poop.
I used the Raggtop cleaner/protectant about 2 weeks ago. I actually bought a separate carwash sponge, that doesn't shed and it's dedicated for cleaning the top only. I usually wash my car in three phases, 1) Wheels and tires 2) RagTop 3) Rest of car. I don't plan on using the cleaner everytime I wash, only if the top starts to look pretty dirty, or I get tree/bird crap on it. I applied 2 coats of the protectant after washing with the cleaner, and it works great. Water just beads right off and the top seems to be more resistant to stains. I also keep a lint brush on hand because I agree that lint on a ragtop looks like crap. Some guys might tell you to cover the windows and car when applying the protectant, but I didn't bother and simply wiped off overspray immediately without any ill effects. It's totally up to you, but the Raggtop stuff is the way to go.
