I'm new in the area and expect to drive down on Sat morning. Will be coming from Danbury. Can someone guve me directions to the track from Danbury?

It looks like the gates open at 9:00 and timed runs begin at 12:00.

Thanks

While gate open at 9 get there early so you have time to unload and meet the guys before racing which begin shortly after 9 am for time trials. Not 12 as you stated. Eliminations will begin in the 12 pm range.

Here are two alternates from etown page, not sure which you would want to take as you can take either

TRAVELING SOUTH:
Take the New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 9, follow the signs to Route 18 South. Go six miles to the Englishtown exit. Take Route 527 South five miles. Make a left onto Pension Road (Raceway Park billboard on left). Go 1/4 mile, track entrance on the left.

ALTERNATE ROUTE TRAVELING SOUTH:
Garden State Parkway South to Exit 123 to Route 9 South. Travel Route 9 South for 10 miles to Texas Road. Turn Right onto Texas Road. Go three miles to the traffic light. Make a left onto Route 527 South. Go one mile making a left onto Pension Road. (Raceway Park billboard on left) Go 1/4 mile, track entrance is on the left.

Looks like you could take 84 to 684 to 287 to the parkway

Chris' directions are spot on, but we could also meet up and head down together if you'd like. I'll PM you mine and Chris' cell phone numbers. Maybe we can meet somewhere on 684.

Just a heads up the Garden State Parkway can get busy in the Summer months especially if it is going to be a nice weekend.

You guys will be down early so it should not be a problem, but maybe the Turnpike to Rt18 is a better alternative.

GSP is usually not a problem going down that early in the morning. Getting home can sometimes be a bit of a challenge and damn near impossible on a Sunday.

Hey Ralph, I talked to Chris and we'll meet at his rest area on 684. I'm going to call him tonight. Planning on being there at 7:15 rain or shine.

Reading your traffic description reminds me of LA. Leaving LA on Fri night or returning on Sun afternoon is next to impossible for someone like me who has zero patience.

I think people going out to the Hamptons need to leave on Wednesday now and return on Saturday.

Korreck leave your gun at home because you will kill someone on the GSP for sure. Between the Ricers whipping in and out of 25mph traffic and the City folk in their huge SUVs talking on the cell phone patience is hard to come by.

Early morning it is still moving good. If the weather holds out for both days then Saturday's ride home prior to 5pm is usually good. Last time Mowton and myself stopped at the Portguese rest. and had a bit of a snack which made the ride much easier.

Thanks Bob. Where are you at in Jersey? I'm guessing south of E-Town.
