By no means am I a drag racing setup expert, so I'll ask you guys.
In general, if I'm going to set-up a car (any generic RWD car) for drag racing, what would I want to change spring-wise from stock....and WHY?
Would I want stiffer front and stiffer rear, but the same proportion of rates?
A lot stiffer in the front and a little stiffer in the rear? vice versa?
Softer in the front and stiffer in the rear?
etc....
For argument's sake, let's say it's something smaller than a Vette like a Miata or S2000 or Solstice, except with a 400hp V8 in it. 3300lb, slightly nose-heavy.
Go with the softest front springs that you can find.. I personally have '65 Vette small block (no AC) front springs with Compretition Engineering adjustable Drag Shocks (set to 80/20 currently) (QA1's would be better but are a lot more $$$) and a 400 lbs/inch Rear spring with QA1 adjustable rear shocks.. (set to about 40/60).
That setup would help you to get some needed weight transfer and taking some of the punishment off the rear end (due to excessive squatting with the stock rear spring)
