Ls 454
I saw something somewhere the other day and can't find it again. Does this thing really live or was I just dreaming.
Anyone got any skinny on this engine, reliability, dynos, yada?

We have several 447's out there now, for a non boosted application it could go slightly bigger on the bore for a 454. But why?

A small block 454. That is really amazing. How in the world do they do this. A very long stroke I guess.

There is a company that makes a deck plate for the LSX series block for a maximum displacement of 499ci.. :O
I'll have to dig up the name, will get back on that.
Edit: ERL Performance makes them.

How are you avoiding cooling problems?
There is no appreciable difference in 447 and 454. In fact the 447 may have some pros depending on cooling, head gaskets, ability to FI, dependibility, yada.
Do you have a link to your engine, Doug?

I have had their 447 package in my car for 1 1/2 years with no cooling issues at all. They installed a be-cool radiator in my car and the car runs at normal temperatures under all conditions.
