traction first. 1 good set of drag radials and he's done for...just make sure you find the rpm vs. bog point thoroughly before the race. Next thing...freak him out. that's the best thing. I've raced tons of cars with 100 more horsepower at the wheels that never beat me. The next best thing you can use against him is NOISE. If you're sitting at 5500rpm before your race w/ open exhaust, he'll never hear his own engine and he'll be 2000 rpm out of his best launching zone. spinning or bogging. Just control yourself and maintain 1/2 throttle after dropping the clutch until the car thoroughly hooks (1 second after the go) then lay in the gas. the next best option is money.....$50 on the race at the last moment will wig him out. ...to your advantage. Also, have a known quarter mile marking point marked off and a guy at the end. If he was behind you until the quarter mile mark and pulled 2 cars in the next 200 ft.... it's doesn't matter. Let off the gas IMMEDIATELY after the mark so he never "knows" how much faster you might be. If all else fails...get in the left lane and do a John Force burnout past the starting line, put it into reverse... back to the starting line sawing the wheel back and forth to "get in the groove". Leave the wheels THOROUGHLY cocked TOWARD his lane at the last inch while you give him a toothy grin and thumbs up.. While he's freaking out after the flag drops, dodge toward his lane until he lets off the gas. ..correct the steering wheel at the last minute and stay in it for dear life. It worked against me in my first big race

Ok I have a friend who has a 1993 MR2 with all racing suspension and exhaust and all. his car makes like 170 stock with the stock turbo. He just shipped it out and got it worked on. He upgraded the turbo and intercooler, and ot it tuned and is pushing 270 to the wheels. He said he can beat me easily and easily beat my dads C6 too. is this true?

You left out the part about spreading Vaseline on the opponents tires. I have a much simpler method that is just as effective.
1. Wait for third yellow light.
2. Extend foot into gas pedal toward floor.

This has no business in the Drag Racing section. It belongs in the "versus" section.
And notice there is no versus section. This is not a coincidence.
It would be nice if just once someone would actually race the Cx vs. X and post the timeslip. We actually spend the time to help someone figure out who's faster and they never ball-up and race.

The fact that they're asking on the internet already means the race won't happen.
When is the last time you posted online before racing someone? Really makes it hard to get many runs in, having to drive home and login to the forum between each run.
Kids want to know how fast their car is and have bragging rights without ever learning to drive it. Sorry Charlie, doesn't work that way.
