Went to Etown for the 11.0 index and
Here is a run down of the days events from Wild Rover Racing.
thrashed on the car until 1pm, running better then it has in a year
loaded up the crew and car, liquids and food etc on the road by 2pm
pitted by 330, unloaded
gave my daughter some $ for her and Pops to go to concession and I head for the lanes.
approx 415 - my daughter frantically gets chaperoned over to me, highly upset - once I understand what is happening, it is out of the lanes and over to concession
Pops passed out...
Track EMT's on the scene
He passes out again under there care, he is off to the Hopsital.
A several hours later, we are informed he has pneumonia - so he is in for a stay.
I want to recognize the fine staff, volunteers and race fans and spectators that were involved in the situation.
The EMT's, Timmy Blair, the ladies from the sovenier shop and concession stand, track officials etc. and the racers and spectators involved -
This episode brought together drag racers and drifters - ps you might look down upon a "ricer" or drifter, but you never know when one of them could come to the rescue, could be a Dr. or a nurse.
Also thanks to fellow Index and Corvette Challenge racers Team Shen and Wayne Keegan for the offer of assistance and kind words.
Thanks again,
JD
