First Time on the Strip
I’ve been slowly working on this car for the past year or so and finally had the roll cage installed this past Friday. So, it was time to get my feet wet or crap my pants – whatever came first. And, to find out, I entered it into the Corvette Challenge (Englishtown, NJ). I didn’t care if I won a thing as long as I stayed safe while having some fun.
I want to say thanks to the many veterans of racing who I met and spoke with, getting loads of tips, poking fun at my reaction times, and being genuine friends. I certainly hope that I run into you guys in the future, as I plan to return.
I also want to thank the guys at ECS for going above and beyond my expectations. Not only did they build this car, but they have worked with me every step of the way to get her on a track. Then, on the day that I decide to run her (today), both Chris and Doug came to the track, checked the tune, helped to dial it in and walked me through each step. Thanks guys! You know I’ll be down to see ya soon.
After running the car and making some new friends, I’m ready to return… Feet got wet = yes
So, all is good! Now, I just need to get some seat time

This is one great addiction.

As you found out today, racers are awesome!!!! We talk smack, horse around, and then help our opponent kick our ***.
Just like the Corvette Family, you will see the Challenge Family is a very tight, friendly, helpful group.

Didn't get to meet you, but I saw the car and was VERY impressed. Sure doesn't look like a 10 second car(which must be a LOT of fun on the street!)

Congrats on the maiden run!

Hopefully we will see it more often! Congrats on the times, awesome times for the first time out. Cant wait to see what it has once you get dialed in!!

Of course, there's also that "feeling" you get (tough to describe) from the moment you get on the track until you turn off to pick up your time slip: What a rush
Definitely addictingIt’s only icing on the cake that my wife loves Corvettes and racing as much as me. So, you may have met her or seen her taking photos.

My only regret is you didn't do this before the rollcage got installed.. It would have been really funny to see what the track officials would say

Looking forward to going to the strip with you
I saw you coming fast and I hit the brakes, but evidently not enough. Beautiful car

Here is a video of the race...

I came over to Etown to hear the finals of the ECS CC being run while trying to get Race Gas (that was an adventure). I wanted to be there earlier, but I was helping with a brake/rotor change for someone.
Glad you had fun and 10 seconds is sweet...

Good talking with ya earlier - Stay in touch,
Dave
