Default shift points

I have 2001 coupe a4 with a couple of mods(exhaust, gear, stall, 50 shot of nitrous) . My best time is 12.44, with 1.9 60' time @ 114.16. My shift points are set at 6000 rpm. I always launch in 3rd and let the trans shift automaticaly. Looking at my dyno sheets my max torque is at 5500. Should I manually shift gears at 5500 or leave at 6000 rpm.
thanks,
rod

I've always been told shift 300 or so over where peak HP is made. This way when it does shift, its that much closer to the peak again.

So I would try making a pass shifting at 5800 or so. But, I don't think you'll see much of a difference if any. So probably keeping it at 6k is just fine.

On a related note, what kind of rear tires are you running? If you're running streets tires, I can understand a 1.9 60'. But with your converter and gears, on drag radials, I'd expect better than that.

I do have DR's. Still playing around with the tire pressure. I was at 20 lbs of pressure my last round. They had a oil down on the track and it took to long to get it cleaned up. The track has to shut down at 10:00 because of noise.
