Now that was really funny!!
Hoping you hit your 11.59 at -2500 DA on Sat! Wish I was there to participate (like everyone else)

Thanks. There really is no chance of me going an 11.59, likely not even an 11.69 either even if it were a -2500, which I don't think it will be. Might be some wind too.
Based on the general online barometer reading (however accurate it may or may not be) of 29.88 for that general area right now we might not even see a -1200 tommorow (still great air no doubt).
But I'd only be seeking an 11.75 anyway and I'll be trying out a slight/minor change if I still go so we'll see how it plays out.

I also have a paid propriety weather subscript and shows a growing upward barometer reading for you at 10:00am with a superior low dewpoint of 14.48, temp of 32*, humid at 45%, though a 12mph NW wind. This reads out even at the current 30.00 barom of a -1839 DA. Keep checking the barom, for each upward .05 of barometer presure, the DA falls by approx -55 DA. Though I do agree if its not below -1,800, I would not bother running either, for the obvious previously stated reasons.

PS-I have some changes of tweaks and strategies myself for my car. I have similar problems but am in a little better shape, its not worth it for me going to MIR for anything less than -1500 DA.

At 9:54 am at ATCO on 12-13-08 you got 32.6*, 47% Humid, 30.36 barom, 15* dewpoint and a Density Altitude: -2222 feet with Relative Density: 106.67 %. Get in Line and Go set those new Personal Records!

One of these days I am going to Atco with my Kestrel Handheld along with my Laptop w/Internet access in my car and compare the online weather, my propriety weather site and my Kestrel 4000 to settle this weird oddity once and for all. Incidentally, I have done the same procedure at Thompson, Summit Park and MIR (all more backwoods locations than Atco) with the same setup and everything matched within reason of less than 100 DA.

Something very odd is going on at ATCO to get those 800-1500 DA differences. This sounds very similar to happenings at the drag track in Roswell, NM

DA -1400 to -1500 roughly

Not sure what is so difficult to understand here.
Your looking at information online that is being retrieved and posted from locations that are NOT right at the track.
It's really just that simple.
Some of those readings are taken from as far as 20 miles away on the roof of a 4 story building. A reading that high up in the air is not the same as one taken AT THE ACTUAL TRACK.
Most of the weather station locations that are used for the online numbers at Atco (again, all are between 5-20 miles away from the starting line) have varying physical elevations, temps, pressure numbers and humidity percentages.
Now does it really make sense that a location only 5-20 miles away could possibly register DAs over 1000 feet apart? It's not common but yes it is possible, especially when one weather station is at ground levle and another one is 50 feet into the sky. A gap of 400-800 feet though is more common as I've seen it first hand almost EVERY time I've compared the online numbers to the handhelds.
The term 'variables' is named that for a reason.

So you've found nearly identical readings between online and your handheld at three different tracks, that doesn't mean it has to also apply to the every single one of the other hundreds of drag strips around the nation.
Just because the milk from cows in PA tastes really good it still shouldn't strike anyone as odd that the milk from cows just over the border in OH might taste better.

That being said, the air was good yesterday.

Hmm, I almost proved myself wrong on that one!

Came very close to that .69 afterall and yes the air/DA played a partial roll in that, but it was certainly not the sole reason for the improvements. I'm still learning more and more about this car and things just came together on a couple of passes yesterday.

New best of 11.70@120.79mph
Hit 1.78 sixty foots on two of the passes and hit 94.13mph in the 1/8th on another.

According to my info, you had a -1800 DA on your 11.78 run on 12/06/08. That difference of -700 DA is worth about .8-.9!! and could be your ticket slip for that 11.69999. If the DA on 12/06 was only -800 as you claim, you are good to go for an easy 11.58 drive! Good luck!
Congrats! Shows I am an even better prognosticator than you!
I was only off by -250 DA and .008. Hopefully you'll get that actual -2500 DA in January and hit that 11.69.

True...I have seen you pick up .50+ with CAI, Tune, DR's and substantial weight cut. On the other hand, I only picked up .30 with CAI, Headers, Tune and DR's. It was not until "Have Negative DA, Will Travel" and "Sea Level" entered the picture, that I picked up the other .40!!

True...or maybe you simply can't drive/set up a car quite as well as you think you can LOL.

Could be. But is it any wonder you set your best times in the months of November and December at Atco instead of say, July and August? Must be pure coincidence, I am sure!

And your best, with long tube headers by the way, was attained at Denver in July I assume?

I know you are really jealous of my "long tube headers" It really bothers you! Tell ya what, since I like you so much, you can have them! My Kooks headers untuned gave me absolutely nada in ET. Got the logs to prove it. I'll trade my headers for your Drag Pack and Skinnies plus the ATCO -2000 to -3500 DA weather! I say in -2200 DA like you got at ATCO, I could do a 11.70 too with my car weighing far more and with far more unsprung mass! No confusion here about it!
