Planning on taking my new 09 A6 out to the dragstrip soon. Haven't been to one in years. It has an interesting combination in that it's a non-Z51 (2.56 gears) but came with chrome wheels that have the Supercars tires on them. Seems to be very sticky, I can't even chirp the tires on the street if I WOT from a slow roll. What RPM do you think I should start out launching at, 1000? I should be able to just let off the brake and stomp it to the floor instead of slowly easing on the gas, right?
I was thinking of dropping the rear tire pressure to around 25 psi cold before I leave, does this sound about right? Is this safe to drive on the freeway? I don't want tire pressure sensors blaring and OnStar calling me or something.
Also planning on putting the shifter in "S", and hitting the traction control button once to disable Traction Control but leave Active Handling on.
I'm very open to tips from the pros here.
Thanks.
