Are You Using AMSOIL?

As you may or may not know, the current API automotive oil specfication for API SM oils limits the phosphorus to 800 ppm, effectively limiting the zinc as well. The zinc and phosphorus are the main anti-wear additive in oils and commonly referred to as ZDDP.
Unfortunately, the owner's manual specifies an oil meeting GM Standard 4178M and part of that standard is to meet the lastest API specs. Thus, to comply with the owners manual, you must use a low ZDDP oil. Tough call for cars under warranty.
Fortunately for me, mine isn't. FYI, the Dominator oil has zinc on the order of 1575 ppm and phosphorus on the order of 1474 ppm, but no detergents or dispersants so really isn't designed for daily driving.
Depending on how serious I was about my drag racing, I'd consider using a high ZDDP oil for the track.
If anyone is considering using AMSOIL, please drop me a PM so I can discuss the AMSOIL Preferred Customer Program with you, which saves about 25% from retail.

Looking for the feedback of those on here. Since most if not all Corvette's require synthetic oils.
Thanks for sharing you stories and feedback.
