Amsoil all around here. I use the signature series 0w-30 in my engine and love it. Maintain significantly higher (5-10psi at various temps up to 280) oil pressure with it versus your other top tier brand oils.

I'm consistent with Absolute or Svedka. Seems to work fine for me. Best with Blue Cheese stuffed olives. Look forward to racing with you in 2010.

I just put in Amsoil severe gear oil in the differential.I'll let you know what it looks like when I change it after a couple of race's.I would use there motor oil,But since I change my oil often it would get to expensive so I use pennzoil platinum which is a good motor oil.

I used to use the Series 2000 0w30 for years.

I use the AMSOIL Dominator Synthetic 10w30 Racing Motor Oil (Product Code RD30QT) in my car, but I road race, so probably not what you are looking for.

As you may or may not know, the current API automotive oil specfication for API SM oils limits the phosphorus to 800 ppm, effectively limiting the zinc as well. The zinc and phosphorus are the main anti-wear additive in oils and commonly referred to as ZDDP.

Unfortunately, the owner's manual specifies an oil meeting GM Standard 4178M and part of that standard is to meet the lastest API specs. Thus, to comply with the owners manual, you must use a low ZDDP oil. Tough call for cars under warranty.

Fortunately for me, mine isn't. FYI, the Dominator oil has zinc on the order of 1575 ppm and phosphorus on the order of 1474 ppm, but no detergents or dispersants so really isn't designed for daily driving.

Depending on how serious I was about my drag racing, I'd consider using a high ZDDP oil for the track.

If anyone is considering using AMSOIL, please drop me a PM so I can discuss the AMSOIL Preferred Customer Program with you, which saves about 25% from retail.

I use AMSOIL Synthetic ATF in my TH 400 race trans. Have used their 20-50 race oil in the past. Both great quality products. I now use Valvoline Racing 20-50 and it is changed after every event.

My Yukon (tow vehicle) has never seen anything but Amsoil...I use the 10/30....in my race car I would use their race oil with the high zinc since I run a flat tappet cam but it is just too pricey...I use Valvoline VR-1 and get it for 4 bucks a quart...

Thanks for the feedback. I just signed up to be a dealer for AMSOIL. I have been speaking to many people about the product. Many have said that they are able to get more mileage from the AMSOIL VS regular synthetic oils.

Looking for the feedback of those on here. Since most if not all Corvette's require synthetic oils.

Thanks for sharing you stories and feedback.

Paul Sr. You made me thirsty.

I like Redline 0w-30 for the Corvette. Pennzoil is also coming out with an improved version of Pennzoil Platinum, called Pennzoil Ultra. Looks very good.

Yes Pennzoil Platinum is (was?) very good, probably the best among the readily available off the shelf (Pep Boys, Walmart etc.) type oils.
