Default Evaluate my time please

Went the track Tuesday night for ORP street legals. They don't prep and the track is horrible on Tuesday nights. My best pass was the first. Drove it to the track, went through tech when idling and drove straight to the staging lanes and went. I think it was the best b/c I was making the least power to lose the least traction and the track was still pretty hot. The air was warm too, I think it was still low to mid 80's on this pass. That being said I was still spinning til the 330' mark and still spun into third. 19" runflats FTL.
Here are the numbers:
r/t....... .228
60ft..... 2.266 haha
330...... 5.583
1/8...... 8.220 @ 95.39 goal is 100mph still have some work to do I guess
1000.... 10.439
1/4...... 12.288 @ 122.73

All in all I was more worried about the mph than anything else. I thought it would be a little higher than it was. Maybe with a good tire and prepped track I can pick up a couple more. What do you guys think? Any issues, other than traction, you can see from this pass? Any info is appreciated. I want mid 11's at least. Car has a P1SC procharger @ 7 psi, 3.73 gears and that is it for go fast parts. Made 505rwhp on auto spec's dynojet.

I could be wrong, & God knows I have been a lot.. but spinning like you did (2.2 60') and running the MPH you did is damn good, however ET is dependent on how your "chassis" is set up.. i.e. shocks, tires, how well it hooks up, etc.. the better set up the quicker your ET will be... (I think your an 11 sec car easy)

However MPH is more dependent on HP... using my car as an example..

I have spun and run 12.30 @ 111 mph.... then on the next run I "HOOKED" and ran 12.11 @ only 111.85 mph...

The difference is to get more MPH you need more HP..... but to get a lower ET all you need is a good chassis set up...

If you add a good set of DR's you should be in the 11 sec zone but I doubt you will see much more than a 2 mph increse...

Now if you go to the track on a night when the Barometer is 30.10 & its 55 deg. outside you WILL see a 5-6 MPH increse...

As I said before.. I may be wrong (I only have been doing this since 1966)

Lets see what some other members think....

so the only thing I know for sure is I was Drag Racing "BEFORE" you were a "Gleam" in your fathers eye...

Don't worry.. the more you go to the track the more you will learn...

Quick tip for today...

When you stage the car go in and light the "Top" bulb on the tree... then creep in VERY SLOW...until you Just barely light the bottom bulb & "STOP" right there.. the sooner you stop the better, this is "Shallow Staging" it will get you a quicker ET and more MPH because you car will move about 16" forward BEFORE" the timing clock starts... (so in reality you are getting a rolling start)

This method is best for getting good ET and MPH..

However if you are bracket racing you want to roll forward a little more.. it will slow your ET but you will have a better "Reaction Time"

Remember "REACTION TIME" has nothing to do with your ET or MPH... So remember you are NOT racing the other car you are looking for good #.. so staging your car as shallow as you can will help!!

I concur with JPee MPH is a function of HP made and will tell you what ET is POSSIBLE.... 122 MPH 10 sec. ET's are possible my bracket car runs 122 -124 and I click off 10.70-10.80 ET's...Most street driven cars never reach their potential ET vs. the MPH they run for an example of cars that reach their potential ET's look no further then the stock elimin ator cars as they are restricted to what can be done to engines they concentrate on chassis set up,they will run 8-10 MPH slower than you but run the same ET..Want some good ET's get a set of Drag Radials (I recommend MTdrag radial's ET Streets) if you want to get a little more serious a set of GOOD single adjustable shocks (pfadt,QA1 ect) as you can have your street car with a nice ride, stiffen it up for those Hi Speedruns when you're in the part of the country where the speed limit sign reads Reasonable and Prudent or set it up for drag racing with a simple turn of the ****.then when done click the shocks back for the ride home PS don't waste your time and money on those cheap
"drag race " shocks

The only thing holding you back from an 11 second slip is a good set of drag radials.

Hoosiers or MT street radials.

Good luck and have fun!!

Thanks for the info guys. What kind of rim tire combos are you guys running? I have Baer +2 rotors. So I am thinking I can only get an 18" rim back there. Anybody have experience with these brakes and trying to fit a smaller wheel on the back?

That's is great news. I hope I can work my way down to that. What kind of rim/tire, suspension were you running?

I have a 2001 coupe with a trick flow top end and with 20's up front a 17x8.5 wagon wheels with hoosier 275/40r17 and keep in mind i only put down 410 to the tires through an ls1 manifold i cut a 1.54 60' and with 11:30 at 119 car weighs 3220. if put 505 to the tire you need some tires big time. depending of what converter you have you should see a 10.90-11.10 slip easy with some good tires.
