What an awesome event and day!
The NJ, NY and PA gang made a strong showing and the ECS cars were some of the fastest in the Rumble.
It sux that Harris vs McCardle (McCardie) came on the first real ladder. Prior to that we were paired randomly from over 100 cars until we got down to less than 32. Luckily, none of the NJ group was paired off until they threw the ladder at us.
ECS did have a car in the money rounds and two of the quickest ET indexes, which is truly deserved with the many long hours spent Friday and Saturday into the late night / early morning fixing everything from an entire ignition system replacement to pulling heads, welding, machining them and getting them back on the car between 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM (Is this some kind of record?) - All in the parking lot of a racetrack!!!!
This truly deserves a story on its own. But, since Internet in this hotel sux, I'll keep it short and sweet and simply say THANK YOU DOUG and JAY!!!! And, of course, my #1 crew, Vivi.
When I get home, I'll be sure to post photos that Vivi was able to get and I think she got a lot... Plus, I hear that Edgar may have been taking video.
Finally, I also want to thank the entire "gang" around us, many who we all know and love including Bob, Doug, Steve, Rob, Marc, Steve W., Danny and Edgar.
We had a blast

Congratulations to all the racers from the Northeast and their shops. What a showing the Northeast made at this National event

A special congratulations to Edgar who along with his Vette Doctors Performance built Red Sled II, went on to win the 2010 NMCA EFI Class Championship
Edgar competed all year and with his excellent driving ability coupled with a stout VDP Built/Tuned 427, beat all comers in the 10.5 Index class.
Props to Edgar and the VDP Crew -- Carmen, Dennis, Joe and Vinny for a solid, reliable car. Looking forward to taking the "brakes" off and entering the 9's this fall season.

Great time as always. I qualified #2 with a 11.502 of the 104 cars. I think I was also .009 on the tree. Then I swore I was staged for a .030 R/T. It came up -.005 red. I know, we have many Monday night couch quarter backs. Tire pressure was set at 42.5, rpm's were at 2,300 and 1 1/2 bumps in. That was a high 20 to a low 30 reaction time. Still baffled why it did not work.
As most event's, I or should I have the pleasure of meeting the local law enforcement (security or Police). This time I/we ran into security. We literally ran into them. No fun if the law is not involved.
I am tossing around the idea to give Edgar some Competition in 2011. Need to find out if they change the rules for 2011 to allow us to race two events - LSX Shootout and EFI at the same event. That will sell it.
