Well, I used the M&H 345's on 18" Forgelines (really heavy) and pulled 1.34 60' with about 1000rwhp. I also ran other 18" drag radials (nittos and BFG's) everywhere from 502rwhp on up to 1132rwhp.

The 17's were only 26" tall so they really never got used much.

Really you are going to want to stay with a 28" tall tire if you can, that is more important than the rim size IMO.

If you aren't putting down a ton of power, the M&H or MT 345's on 18" wheels will be fine and will look nice, they will also allow for pleasant street driving.

I'm only in the 625-675rwhp range. I know your a C6Z but my C5Z won't fit a 345 without surgery or some fenders. So....Hoosier makes a 335 that might fit. But I doubt it. The widest I could see fitting back there would be in the 315 range. M/T does make a 315/45/16 that I've been eyeballing but that b**ch is heavy (34lb tire)!! And at 27" it's doable but at my rpm level and HP level I think a 25-26" tire will be great for me. I understand the rollout advantage, especially when you factor in the width but.......well what's your thoughts on that ??

Thanks..

Well, I guess you will really just have to try some to figure out what works best for you...

I have heard good things about the Hoosier tire. There is a ~600ish rwhp C6 (not a Z) here in town that is doing well on it.

He only 60's in the 1.5 range, but that is better than the stock tire.

Keep in mind what your tire size will do to your gear. You are going to want to figure out what gear ratio you want to end up with and make sure that the tire doesn't lower your gear too much.

More gear is great for 60' if you can hook it up, but as you add more power, less gear can help you hook better and actually go faster in the short times.

I'm sure you have some end goals in mind and really what you need to do is make sure you engineer the setup so that it "can" accomplish the end goals that YOU want.

If that is done, then all you have to do is drive it properly and then you have it.

I use the calculator located here as well as other calculators on that site to make sure my setup will accomplish the goals I have.

Hope that helps.

Don't want to hijack the thread, but if I'm planning to get some DOT slicks, i dont want to make the wrong chioce.

Will be using on the stock Z06 wheels, either front 18s or rear 19s.

So far it i'm leaning towards:

Nitto NT05R Competition Drag Radial Tire 285/40R18

Nitto NT05R Competition Drag Radial Tire 345/30R19

Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial Tire P305/45R19

Not sure what would be better choice for width vs sidewall. Car is mn6 Z06 with A&A kit ~630 whp.

I would stay away from the nittos.

A few people have tried the new NT05Rs and did like the results but I too would probably still go with M/Ts over those (and definitely over the 555Rs).
