Thanks again for all the good advise. I'll try to do better next time and make you proud.
I guess I shouldve dialed 1 or 2 hard and will remember that next time.

Those videos are great. They're really keeping an eye on their opponent. Im still using a clutch and shifting gears, but I'm in forth just after the eigth, so I should have plenty of time to size up my situation. Just need more practice.

Thanks again for all your help.

I find it a little tough to see the opponent in a convertible unless I'm fender racing...we have some pretty big blind spots! Wish we could run top down!

They should all be tossed out for not looking where there are going. Sounds like Pro Eliminator at Atco.

Mirrors my friend. Move both side mirrors out a bit so you can see the opposite lanes. When your opponent enters your blind spot turn your head because they are along side of ya.

That's actually what I do. I have my # 2 memory seat/mirror positions all set up for drag racing.

Love the vids. I never saw a transbrake button like that. And the vision blocker looks like a good tool.

I guess that's one downside of the foxbody. My side mirrors are useless.

is that because other cars are always ahead of it and no reason to look back/side ?

No. I just drug the race car to south west florida. Doing a return in a week then one last run south. I'm missing racing both north and south. Hopefully I'll be able to hit the florida tracks in September. Good luck to ya all. I miss the Grove already.

PS That 11.50 stang will need mirrors at the AMI event. Marc, if you know you lost on the tree war you most likely don't want to take the stripe.

Hey Kaz...tonight they are having a "bucket" race at CFRC...it is a gamblers event where the track puts the first $200 in the bucket...they have gotten additional sponsors to put more in the bucket...as of 30 minutes ago there was $900 in the bucket...they then add all the $20 entry fees on top of that......

With just 10 racers the pot will be $1100 to the winner and up with every racer....you can't beat that deal for a 20 dollar entry...I think the next one is in October...if 25 show up it is $1400 to the winner ...woot!...

All door cars, footbrake/no box, 7.99 and quicker...

Oh I'm sure there'll be more than a couple 9.50 cars there. But I do have a new setup for next year that should make mirrors much less important

Not that speed matters when consistency is the key as we all know. As good as this car has been all year, I'm hesitant to change anything.

Yesterday at the NA Shootout...

my index was 12.00

after round 1 of qualifying, I was #5 with a 12.072

atfer round 2 of qualifying, I was #1 with a 12.008

First round I'm paired with a 10.50 car. So here's my chance to take the advice of you guys here and try using my mirrors and swiveling my head a bit more...

No chance - My opponent red lighted. I was .021 on the tree and ran it out to an 11.997.

Round 2, 11 cars left and I get the bye, but wait... rain came and they call the race... damn...

We were told they will continue the race on the last race of the season. Oct 29th. I'm working that weekend... UGH. All I have to do is show up and take the tree and I get $50 for the 1/4 finals money - but, I can't make it.

After last week and yesterday, I'm feeling a lot better about my chances every time I take the tree...

Thanks again for all your advice.
