Well folks, no easy way to say this so i will blurt it out.
Parking the racing operation next year.
Burnout has become burnout and it just is not the same now.
I have to take a break and I have to do it cold turkey.
I will help Bob, Rob and Dennis set up next year and then I will be signing off.
We will miss you. When you won the ambassador award last year it was no fluke. You are truly an ambassador of the sport of drag racing and corvette racing in particular.
Thanks for everything you've done for us.
I enjoyed the times racing and traveling with you and the sled.
If you need a hand "winterizing" let me know, I'll be there.
We understand the need to take a break and wish you the best during your time off, hoping you'll decide to return in the future.
The commitment, dedication, time, energy (and more) that you devoted to the local, and other series, as well as your own personal racing activities is remarkable. You’re an asset to the racing community (a true ambassador) and made the Corvette Challenge a wonderful success.
You will definitely be missed and we hope to cross your path and see you.
In the meantime, thank you for all your contributions. We wish you good health, happiness and prosperity.
P.S. If you ever want to get out for a bit and race for $1, we'll be around

Lets go out for another beer buddy...anytime I understand. Sad, but we all understand. Your dedication to the corvette challenge and the sport in general is unparalleled.. Thank you.

Thanks for everything you have done over the years Edgar. Enjoy the stress free vacation from racing and everything. Don't drop off the face of the earth though!

WHAT!!??
I guess I scared you when I said that I was racing the LM-EFI and also the LSX Series.
I will do my best with the CC. I will be away from the local racing scene at RP in 2012 due to the NMCA and doing some other type of racing with my son.
Have fun on your time off or should I call it a time out.
Ed you know you were a positive influence & guidance mentor to me when I first started. I owe a lot to you & remember the times we spent together back in the day.. Hope this little liaison will re-charge your batteries & you'll be back racing in 2013..!
Guess you were serious I'd have to wait a while to bring you those cookies lol Sad to think you won't be around and even if I don't know your reasons I understand needing to break routines sometimes. I got out of racing towards the end of 2007 and didn't get back into it till late 2009 it was one of the best things I did for myself. Wish you the best and see ya soon
Wow, even though you'd touched on this a little bit earlier in the season I am still a little shocked by it...but I also fully understand it because I too am sort of feeling the same way and already had plans to run only a partial season in 2012 (no points, just a few select Corvette Challenge and GM EFI bracket events).
Hope that it's only a year or so and that you'll be back eventually.
And with all of the sentiments stated above...you have actually helped make the joy of racing (be it the CC, LSx Shootouts, NMCA, NA Shootouts whatever) that much more fun with your dedication and enthusiasm towards the events/classes themselves and those that you race with.
Thank you for that.
I remember you from the days you had the GREEN 95 six speed and me & Mackey showed you how to stage... You proved you are a fast learner..
Going from learning to CHAMPIONSHIP Way to go!! My only suggestion is "Don't sell the car" you might get the "itch" in a year or two..... Also please stop by the track a few times next yr just to bust my Balzz
LOL...my asking price won't be so high but JPEE is dead on. I was thinking of selling but given nothing is selling these days and I might want to return, I have chosen to just park it for a year. At the end of the year..if I make, then I will consider selling. If I did sell, it would be a package deal, car, truck and trailer....I'll take 100K now for it
Does Vette Doctors need a new car to sponsor? i know someone that needs straight axle for 10.50 nxt season , really gonna miss you next year edgar the challenge wont be the same without you
