OK, it looks like June 22nd will finally be the date I get some runs in with the new setup.
My previous bet was 13.37@102mph. That was with the stock torque converter and 2.59 gears and street tires.
Best 60' was a 1.93.
I now have a Vigilante 2800, Dana 44 with 3.45's and BFG drag radials(275/45R17).
Still running the stock exhaust and intake, haven't done the 160 t-stat or TB bypass yet, but I can get my temps down and keep them there for my runs.
Anybody care to guess how much(if any) improvement I will see?
Try my new approach...Don't predict ANYTHING..Just go in, do your thing, what it runs it runs. That way there aren't any expectations or let downs(if it doesn't run as well as you'd hoped).
Does air come that thick??? Last week, our air ranged from 8223 down to 7617 in the cool of the evening. The best I've seen in 3 years, at the track, was this spring. The temp was 54.6 and the DA was 4895. I ran my quickest ever (here) of 15.05. I thought I was going to actually see a 14. I was second from the burn out box when they closed the strip for the night. Damn! And this was only a test & tune night. 5000' and under is a rarity, here. Even 6000' is a treat not to be seen during the summer. I'll try to post some numbers from this Friday's and Saturday's racing. I don't know of anywhere, except Bandimere, that the air is typically worse. Three thousand feet. HA! What would that be like???

We've had nights where the DA was -1800
Frank..... would you PULEZZZZZ not tell those "Westerners" about the "Good" NJ air... Let them think it's polluted & bad for you... That will keep the "tough"competition out on the "Left Coast" :D
