Default Evolving project

Some of you may recall my Vega project that is getting near to being ready for a "real run" from the lights. Previously, all my runs were to gain some understanding of the way this undocumented beast performed - traction, steering, stability, etc.

The built 350 seems like it's up to the task and yesterday, I finally got a set of BFG DOT P275/50 drag radials on it. Had some difficulty finding a tire that would fit and that had a 26" diameter - in the end, it boiled down to traction and RPM's that would get me under 12.

At 2775 pounds, there isn't much weight on the back and my first test in the driveway suggests that traction may still be a problem. The section with on these tires, as installed, is 11.4" and the tread is about 10".

Have about 3/4" clearance on the inside and currently have 30 psi in them - I'm aware that it needs to be lower and of course that varies with temperature. Anyone have any suggestions about my first real run on this beast?

What brand DR... also be sure to do a "good" burnout "NOT CRAZY" but see white smoke.. I'd start at 16 - 18 lb of air and go from there, you also can play with your launch RPM...

I'm using Nittos but just bought a set of MT 305/35x18" and they are 26" overall diameter.. my 60' is around 1.62 - 1.68 if it hooks... ?? but that is why I'm switching to MT because the Nittos spin about 20% of the time no matter what kind of burnout I do...

They are BF Goodrich - here's a link:

The actual tread is different and looks more like this one?
