Default Strange drag race rear brake kit?

Hey guys,
Pretty sure Strange makes a lightweight rear brake kit for C5's but not sure what for part numbers, who to get it from etc.
(FYI I've got LG drag spindles already.)

Any info on a small light master cylinder that'll mount to the factory location to?

B4178WC or B4178WC2 (black rotor) -its a front kit, but same same. You will have to modify the spindle. Other options, Carlyle racing has a kit that is nice, not strange but direct bolt in, you keep parking brake as well.

See this detailed post by my buddy blkscls1z

yep I've got the front kit already. This is for the rear. -- Are you saying the front and rear kits are the same??? (if so hows that possible, the rear has the axle going through the splined hub)

As mentioned, same kit.

You will have to machine a spacer to go in between the spindle and the hub. Otherwise, the axle will rub on the caliper bracket.

It's not too big a deal, but it sure would be nice if Strange would just make them.

holy crap I must be retarded..... Steve I checked the link you posted about your buddies car but none of the pictures show up. I understand the front and rear factory spindles are the same but I guess I must be lost on how it works in the back, I'm assuming the Strange kit bolts into the 3 bolt holes on spindle? if so where does the spline come from? or does this still use the factory hub and the rotor hat slips over the hub etc?

Factory hub. Axle goes through the hub. Strange hat fits over the hub.

As previously stated the kit that goes on the front will fit on the back. All you have to do is criss cross them. You will also have to cut the old caliper mounting brackets off of your spindle. This is a photograph of the actual washer that I used for a spacer to slip over the 1/2 shaft. I special ordered it from fastenal. It's 2 1/4 round, 1/4 thick and 1 1/4 inner hole. I did have to ground a little material out of the hole so it fit better around the half shaft.

Here is another free tip. After putting everything together, my wheels stuck out of the wheel well another half inch. Something else to think of if your wheels are already close to the lips. I could not stand the way it looked on my car so I re-ordered the same rims with more back spacing.

ah ok that's pretty cool, you beat me to the wheels sticking out logic.... I've got a 315 pro on it now with a 11.25" rim and it sticks out more than I like..... I'd order L5 flare fenders but don't really love them either lol
Thanks guys for the info!

I had a 295-50-16 MT Dr. That stuck out a cool 2 inches easily. I got another inch of backspacing on the new rims and switched to a 295-50-16 Hoosier drag radial. That brought the tire in to a reasonable amount. I'll probably still do flared quarters over the winter and my next set of tires will be a smidge wider .

I'm satisfied with the end result. To bad it cost an extra $1500 I didn't expect to spend to get the end result . My $800 brake project ended up tripling. LOL.
