Default Made my first run at the track

Last night did my first run here in Phoenix AZ. It was only about 70 degrees out, my best pass was a 12.46(terrible lol) at 122! Didn't let any air out of the tires because there wasn't a place within a reasonable distance that I could fill em back up. It chewed through the tires like crazy until the top of 2nd with traction control on lol. My next upgrade is a set of drag radials and thinking about re-gearing it, I was at top 3rd gear coming across the finish line.

Got an 08 w/ an LS3. Long tube headers, straight through exhaust, CAI and a cam.

Great mph! With DRs that could be a high 10/low 11! You'll get there!

Nice trap speed.
Tires will make all the difference.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Edit: Assuming that you have a stick, you would be much better served with 4.10s. All gears become more usable. As you would expect, it is easier to 60' these cars with gearing.

It is possible for an auto to run a 10 second pass at 122 but not a manual.
For a stick, one would need to trap slightly higher and have a sixty in the low 1.5s.

It's a manual. I'm saving $ because the summer in Arizona gets a little warm lol. Gonna try some slicks and a re-gear, amazing when I run around town at 70mph it's only turning 1500rpm!

I run the Hoosier dr2 in 275/40/17 and love them. Just with cam only I went 11.0@128. Added heads and dipped into the 10s. Havent been back since as I'm saving for a clutch. I'd rather not completely kill it lol. I'm 6spd and 3.42s

Could you tell it was slipping a bit during the run or is slipping during launch more than the stock clutch could handle?

It wasn't slipping. But I don't want to keep pushing it. I met my goal and don't want to be forced to put a clutch in the car if you get that.

Hoosier makes a great DR. We ran the original 275/40R17s way back when and they would consistently produce the best ET when compared with heavier DRs. The downside to the Hoosiers are they are not safe in inclement weather and do not last as long as other DRs.
