I went to the slick and radial test n tune tonite at Orlando to find an open comp set up...I believe I did...my idea was to leave off the foot and then off the button and see what the ET difference was...I made passes off each and pretty much found what I needed...
My first pass off the foot brake I pushed through while the tree was dropping...oops...I went 6.74 with that rolling start leaving at 2500 rpm...my next pass off the foot I was clean and went 6.72 leaving at 2300 rpm...then I switched it up and left off the button at 3600rpm...my car went 6.696...not quite enough since in open comp they take your quickest time shot and subtract .05...
I took another pass off the foot but launched at 2000 rpm this time...bingo!...I went 6.739...this put me almost at .05 faster from foot to button...so when I take my time shots at the Gainesville event, I will launch off the foot brake...when they subtract .05 from my fastest I can then leave off the brake and run just about on my number...I am thinking about heading up to Rockingham for the Carolina Powerfest in a couple of weeks...we'll see...
Thanks Mac...I am looking forward to seeing you back out there again soon...Rob and I begin ordering parts this week for my engine changes...new heads, new cam, new custom built carb, etc...some of the parts need long lead time...oh yeah, we need to freshen up the crank as well, magnaflux etc....

Oops....I completely forgot that open comp is run off a .500 pro tree...I haven't left off that in a long time...I will be going to the test n tune on Wed. night at Orlando to practice hitting the tree off it....oh well...

Good luck. I can't cut anything close to a good light on a pro tree unless I deep stage.
I hear ya Mac...I plan on upping my front tire skinny pressure to 45 lbs. and raising the two step launch rpm to 3800 from 3600 if need be...we will see what happens...lol...

OK, I tried the pro tree...my first pass I completely goofed it up...my second pass I was better but still missed the qwap out of it with a 100 tree...my third attempy went south quickly...I pulled into the staging lanes and when they called me up to run my car was dead as a door nail...fooey!...I got a jump off a street car and put it back on the trailer...I did not think my battery was that old so I was a bit confused...the next morning I went back to advance auto parts and, sure enough, the battery was completely gone...not even rechargeable...turns out it was two years old exactly so they put in a new Diehard for free...who knows what happened...anyway, the car starts like a champ now...
I am going to buy a solar powered trickle charger...where I store my car there is no power...this should help my battery survive a little longer...
You need some better luck, Dan. Heat here in Florida just kills batteries.
You got that right Bob...my solar trickle charger arrived today...now all I need is an extension cord which is ordered so I can put the panel on my dash and reach the clips to the battery in the trunk...oh yeah, I need to cut a hole in the tubs with a rubber grommit to snake the wire...lol...
