I am back from the wars...I went to Bradenton Motorsports Park to race their two day event...my first time back in the truckster since Memorial Day...I left at 5AM on Saturday morning and arrived at the track at 8:15AM...unloaded and got set up in the pits...took the truck out for a warm up and was ready for my time shot...they called my class up at 10AM...I was rusty and a bit anxious...I went 69 red and the truck ran 6.50...I needed to settle down...this is me burning in brand new tires..."leaves like a truck...truck...truck.....my butt was like what...what...what...let me say it again...go, go...go...go..."..paraphrase the Thong Song...lmao...



They finally called us up for first round and I lined up with a camaro dialed 6.42...I put 6.52 on my whip and off we went...I got him on the tree, my 22 to his 43...but...I lost on a double break out...I ripped her twice but not enough...qwap!...I took the walk of shame and bought back in...lol...

In round two I caught a friend of mines daughter...she drives a very nice 68 camaro dialed 6.10...I put 6.49 on mine and off we went...I whomped my ride twice, once again, but lost by .004...sigh...I was 37 on the tree to her 13...I ran dead on with an egg but could do no more given my tardy tree...fooey...that was it for my day so I took 3 of my buddies to dinner at a very nice Italian restaurant and we had a blast...everything home made and yummy!...I had the shrimp fra diablo over home made pasta...woot!...then back to the hotel and watched the Presidents Cup golf till 2AM...up at 6AM for some more racing...

I had a nice breakfast at the hotel and off to the track...got there at 7:30AM...wiped down my truck and drank coffee until it was time to warm her up...they called us up for our time shot and I guess I spun since I went 6.56 after going 49 the day before...oh boy...what to dial now...sheesh...I took a WAG and put 6.54 on my board...I raced another S-10 dialed 6.27...I got down there and did not see him...I ripped twice and it turned out he was in my blind spot...sigh...it did not matter since I ran 6.49 again breaking out by 5...he broke out by 3 numbers...oh yeah, I was .001 on the tree to his .009....oh well...buy back window for me...this chit is getting old...lol....

Round next is called and I line up with the current and three time track champ, Tim Butler...he is a killer and we are friends...for some reason we always race close...I know he is hot this weekend...he won Saturday's event tearing the tree out every pass...one round I saw him take out a 9 pack with his 8 pack...anyway...he dialed 6.10 like he has for years and I put 6.49 on my junk...it wanted to run that so why fight it...I did try to hit the tree a little extra hard and had a -011 red eye...of course I ran dead on with a 6...Tim did what he does and put a 9 pack on me...we were two and two but now he is one up on me...

So that ended my event...I am happy I got to shake some rust off and get some seat time...next up is South Georgia Motorsports Park for two 5 granders in 10 days or so...one more pic...
