I'm Baaaaack!!!!





In the first round I ran another S-10...he dialed 6.38 to my 6.32...it was settled on the tree...he missed with a .159...I was just OK with a .030...I killed 8 mph to go 6.444 for the win...I was a bit surprised that I hit the tree even that well to be honest... I forgot to mention I had no time shot...I let my engine builder take the first hit so I was going into the first round blind...lol...I did lose 2 full numbers at the 60' which concerned me...
They call us up for second round and I line up with a 68 Camaro with a fellow I do not know...he sure knew what he was doing, though, since I was 37 on the tree and dead 8 for the loss...he was 11 on the tree and took the stripe by 13...oh well...btw, I decided maybe my poor burn out in round one made me slow down my short time so I did a much better birn out in this round...it showed as I went right back to my 1.36 short time...brand new slicks probably factored into this as well...
Anywho, I was pleased to be back in the saddle again and plan to get better as I go along...I forgot to mention I was foot braking and leaving at 2400 rpm...when I let go off the button at 3600 rpm, hang on sloopy!...probably be mid 6.20's...for now I will foot brake in anticipation of the upcoming foot brake only triple $10K's at Rockingham next month...next wed. I leave for Jackson, SC for the NHRA division 2 finals...pretty sure she will run 6.20's there with the much cooler air...we'll see...lol...
