Default Torque Converters???

If you browse the C5 tech performance board....the Super Yank has been quite popular and with the suggested hp you'd mentioned.

I am sure some racers with C5's will chime in.

Good luck.

You don't lose much at all, as long as you stay at or under a 3500 stall. Once you move up to a 4000+ stall, it gets very loose.

What rear end ratio do you have?

:iagree:

I have the Yank ST3500 and the driveability is excellent. As Face mentioned the bigger the gear ratio the tighter (like stock) the converter will feel.

What tires do you use, or plan on using?

For street tires or drag radials, the Y3000 or Super Street 3200 would be good choices.
For drag radials or ET Streets, you could use a SS3600 or the PY3400E, which was designed for nitrous.

Check out http://www.converter.cc/index.html for lots of great info.

I have a Yank ST 3500 in my car with about 385 rwhp in it.

Very stock like driver and hits hard off the line.

97Brian......
I'm using the Super Yank 3500 with 700R4 and 3:70 gears in rear.....Good and tight on the road with lots of deep down guts out of the hole......I use 8" MT ET Streets. I used to run the B&M 3000 Hole shot with my TH350....Both are good converters.....However the Super Yank 3500 is awesome.....Like dumping the clutch..... :flag :seeya Cappy

BTW...that's all throttle no bottle.....415ci small block. :D

You must get an excellent 60 ft with that setup! I am going for the 342 when
i change the converter. I'm using Nitto extreme drags. Quite stickey.
