Bill, yeah it feels great leaving that hard, what's up with selling your ride?
Jesse, the hood is aftermarket, I couldn't get it painted in time for last weekend, scheduled for next week. How about your rollbar? Shoot me an email about the chips, I have to go out of town the 25th might be a good time to do a quick turnaround on what's in the car!
Great to see your car is back. Great run for a N/A small block that sounds like a stock vette, no thumper cam or solid lifters. My guess with a little tuning and some cold air and your E/T will drop into the 10.50's.
I cant get enough of that vid. My friend with an LPE IROC knows Bill C well and knows the car. he's dying to see it. With a little NAWWWS that car's a 9 second ride EASY!
How did a 1.39 short feel? Like Bill M said above, my previous best 60' was a 1.59 in my blown 5.0 GT stang. I launched at 6000 rpm and it honestly felt like the little 8.8 rear was comin' through the floor  I can't imagine the neck snap you'll get from that. Time for a HANS? ;)
I know you've told me this already, but what cam are you running ? I know you're a hyd roller, but I don't think you're still running the 219 are you ??
Jay, it feels REALLY GOOD! The video is of the very first good launch, after that I started playing with the tire pressure, 4-link preload & front shock adjustments and the car just kept coming up higher! There's more to be gained in the 60' because the tires started to rattle when I went to low on the pressure. I haven't touched the rear shock valving yet so there's more tuning to do. Might be able to knock off another couple of hundredths, time will tell!
Beach, Yep the 219 & SR are still in there! I didn't want to change anything yet having to do with the engine. I figured if I get this thing hooked up with this diesel torque engine, then I can start playing around. If the weather cooperates for a while longer and I'm satisfied with the bite, I may try another cam or intake before winter sets in.
I can hardly stand the wait 'til the next run!
Dave :hurray:
Amazing launch. Why do the brake lights come on?
So low 60 ft times are achieved through suspension tuning?
When you say "....tires started to rattle..." does that mean they lost traction?
Sorry if dumb questions......am a newbie.
The last weekend that the track is open we should hit it with a nice shot of NOS to see how far into the 9's it will go. I agree with Jay, and I will hook it up for you. :smash: You should be in the 10.50's when the cold air hits on motor.
