Default 0-60MPH G-TECH

This site has some great running C5's, I was wondering if any one measured with a G-Tech. Its a 8 hour round trip to get to a 1/4 mile track and I needed something to compare how my car is set up. My bolt on stock motor A4 can't get into the threes. The DA runs 3000-6000 here . Any input would be appreciated. Thanks Ron B.

Twin turbo Porshe wont get into the threes, mine is running 5.1 to 5.5 depending on traction, using a Tazzo that is spot on accurate with the clocks at the strip..I have run a 13.17 at the strip with a not so good 2.27 60 ft

Thats about where I was 5.0X with my mods,Until I bought the bfg drag radial package from Nate@corvette garage. Then the first try netted a 4.19, next is the transgo kit I got from a forum member. maybe that'll put it in the 3's. Thanks Ron B.

How will the Transgo shift kit help in 0-60 do you think the shift will make almost .20 ( 2 tenths) of a sec improvement..

My car has run 12.28 & the best I could do was 3.96 with drag radials, On that run my 60' was 1.68

The 4.19 was my only run so far. my 1-2 shift is possibly the worst of all the cars I've owned. Even with the predator it's not good. Between more practice and a good shift who knows? I'm just glad you guys responded. Thanks Ron B.

Prior to my ATI SC my fastest 0-60 was about 4.05 seconds it is next to impossible to be in the threes on a flat surface unless it is very sticky and you have excess traction. With over 450rwhp and see my sig. I am in the low 4s even with an high ten second car. You need allwheel drive and 3s are much easier to achieve.

I find that the G-Tech provides accurate times as long as its calibrated correctly.

I'm seeing 4.9x 0-60 times with 60ft times in the 1.7x on my C4.

Sure is nice to get a little practice in without having to drive to the track.

Great product, technology is accurate to the T. That is if you are calibrating correctly, and the car doesn't spin, and you can complete the whole 1/4 without hesitation (traffic). My experience with my stock truck was great but when I hit it with the Vette - too many problems. If yoou are that far from a track - sucks, no doubt, I guess all you have to guage performance is by racing someone. Stock vette with A4, 3.15 1999 and above 314HP. 4.5 0-60 and a 1/4 at 13.7 there is the answer and saved $300 bucks.

Nick.. it may have been close on the drag strip.. but trust me you Did Not Go 0-60 in 2.8 Sec! Maybe if you had a Super Gas car, but not in the Vette or Porsche.. I'm betting the Vector was off center.. or tilted..

trust you?
you think i am full of crap?
my car goes 0 to 97 in 7.13 so how is it impossible to go 0-60 in 2.87??? 60 mile an hour is approx 60% of of 97. as you know you excellrate at a slower rate as your speeds increase.
the new gt 40 goes 0-60 in 3.2! i am sure if you stuck a set of nitto drags that itll go just as fast as my car.
i not trying to get hostile but i know what i have seen and done and not just once!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :flag :flag :flag :flag :flag :flag :flag :flag :flag :flag :flag

60' to 0-60 conversion

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2.3 second 60' time = 35.5 mph @60' = 7.0 second 0-60 time
2.2 second 60' time = 37.1 mph @60' = 6.5 second 0-60 time
2.1 second 60' time = 38.9 mph @60' = 5.9 second 0-60 time
2.0 second 60' time = 40.9 mph @60' = 5.2 second 0-60 time
1.9 second 60' time = 43.0 mph @60' = 4.6 second 0-60 time
1.8 second 60' time = 45.5 mph @60' = 4.0 second 0-60 time
1.7 second 60' time = 48.1 mph @60' = 3.4 second 0-60 time
1.6 second 60' time = 51.1 mph @60' = 2.9 second 0-60 time
1.5 second 60' time = 54.5 mph @60' = 2.2 second 0-60 time
1.4 second 60' time = 58.4 mph @60' = 1.5 second 0-60 time
1.36 second 60' time = 60.0 mph @60' = 1.36 second 0-60 time
1.3 second 60' time = 62.9 mph @60' = 1.2 second 0-60 time
1.2 second 60' time = 68.1 mph @60' = 1.1 second 0-60 time
1.1 second 60' time = 74.3 mph @60' = 0.9 second 0-60 time
1.0 second 60' time = 81.8 mph @60' = 0.7 second 0-60 time

Here's something I posted elsewhere that may give you a better idea of 0-60mph times.

Here's another way to get 0-60mph times that's probably a lot more accurate. Plot distance vs. time from one of your time slips. Put feet on the y axis and time in seconds on the x axis. Most time slips give you a 60', 330', 1/8 mile, 1000' and 1/4 mile and their respective times. Fair in a curve through the points. Next draw a straight line from point 0,0 to 880 ft, 10 sec. The slope of this line represents 60 mph (88 ft/sec). Draw a line with this same slope tangent to your distance vs. time curve. Read down from the tangent point to the x axis. That's your 0-60 mph time.

I agree with you 100%.. not to put you on the spot but do you think 0-60 in 2.8 sec in an 11.1 Vette is possible ?

Nick,

If you send me the numbers off your timeslip I'd be happy to plot them and see what that shows for the 0-60 mph time.

I looked up some1/4 mile and 0-60 mph times in Road & Track:

McLaren F1 - 1/4 mile 11.6 @ 125.0, 0-60 mph = 3.4 sec

Corvette C5-R - 1/4 mile 10.3 @ 136.0, 0-60 mph = 3.5 sec

Kind of indicates that C5-R wasn't getting super 60' times.
