I thought that was a great "Simple" way to match your pistons to the bores in an ever more complex way than just slapping them in!

The video shows how its used...

Pretty cool!

I fail to see the point. From what *I* see, all this does is estabilish the relationship of the end of the pin bore to the widest point of the piston under the pin. The piston diameter is measured at 90* (major diameter) to the pin bore for cylinder fit . Pistons are NOT round. Unless I misunderstand, I don't see the significance if this measurement.

If you have a piston that has no pin offset it lets you drop a piston that is ovaled the same way as the cylinder bore...

Just another way to standardize the clearances!

I don't understand. What do you mean by "drop"? If you mean, install, generally pistons have domes, dishes, or valve reliefs that dictates which way they they are installed. Oval cylinder bores??? A piston tends to center in the bore. Either the pin floats in the rod or the piston pin hole. Doesn't this just measure how far the end of the pin bore is going to end up from the cylinder wall? And if it's equal from side to side? I'm sorry, I just don't "get it".

RACE ON!!!

Default I don't get it

While I love tools I can't see any need for this one...
