I want to buy some dyno software to model some engine changes I am contemplating. Any recommendations as to which program to buy and where to get it. Also, has anyone checked the results of one, i.e. had their engine dynoed to see how accurate the programs are?

I have the Dyno2000 software and I subscribe to Chevy High Performance. I have made many comparisons between Dyno2000 and the actual dyno results from CHP. I have found the software to be really accurate (0-5% error), but then you must also realize that the CHP dynos are basically gross HP (no alt, ps, etc). I use the software to compare setups (mainly heads and cams) more than to quote HP numbers.

I bought Dyno2000 from a local O'Reily Auto Parts store for less than $50.

a better one is engine analyzer v3 from performance trends. www.performancetrends.com i have both and this one is more accurate and easier to use.

Saw this one for $16, hard to go too far wrong for that price?
