yes - i run about 5% anti-freeze, because supposedly with the A/C on you can freeze the water in the heater core if you don't. but i dropped like 30 degrees when i lost the anti-freeze and went to water, a little anti-freeze and some red line water wetter.

the marketing guys at Prestone have convinced nearly everyone that "summer coolant" is needed! LOL

Caution: warmup time is longer with 100% water

I use distilled water and wetter water two bottles with a dash of antifreeze. a stewart water pump, and a griffin radiator. with the A/C on high humidity, 95 degrees, i still can run 165 ,on a 160 thermostat this is cruising at 65. in traffic it warms to 185. but it has taken 4 yrs. to get there thru trial and error and a lot of different parts
