The problem is, you won't have a "firestorm". You will only get one spark that will flow through the path of least resistance. Plus your gonna be blocking the whole chamber from the spark. Those bosch platinum 4 plugs don't through four sparks. The spark will only cross to the tip with the least resistance.
You could check this by pulling the plug and seeing the spark. If you do in fact get a firestorm I'd love to see pics of it happening.
Go ahead and try it if you would like, imo you won't see a performance gain.

Lame, never put a washer inside the cylinder.
An easier mod that does work is to cut back the ground strap to give the spark better exposure. The only penalty is shorter plug life. Some engines also show a few more hp when the spark plugs are indexed.
Electricity is lazy, no firestorm will come from that severely shrouded design.
