Just built a 409 motown engine, callies crank/oliver rods, 210 AFR heads, ZZ-X cam, miniram. I am getting oil dripping from the rear of the engine on both sides. It seems to be in the area where the head bolts on by cylinder numbers 7 and 8. I cannot locate the leak and it is driving me nuts. The intake was sealed with RTV ....I do not see any leak at the rear of the intake. no leaking at the distributer. Nothing else leaking...valve cover gasket, oil pan, rear main seal, oil pressure sensor, oil temp sensor....all ok. Is it possible that with 11:25 CR I am blowing oil by the head gasket?...exhaust blowing no oil, plugs look fine, engine runs great. If anyone has experienced this before let me know...all advice is appreciated......
Just a suggestion but....take another GOOD look at the rear intake seal.
Sounds like the identical leak I chased around for days and finally tracked it to the rtv seal, the very corner where the head, block and intake meet was the tiniest gap.
I pressurized the crankcase with compressed air and used soap suds to be sure..........
