I am considering using this product on my '82 Crossfire Injection. Have been to the X-Ram Website. Does anyone have any experience with this product that they could share?

There are several that have used it, on here, and most seem to like it. Personally I don't like the idea of the air/fuel mixture having to make a 180° turn at the carburetor flange. Also, I have yet to get the sense that the X-Ram is any better than my home ported stock manifold, or even as good. There is no doubt it will provide an improvement over stock...what wouldn't?

The main advantage to the X-Ram as I see it is the ability to use a Crossfire fuel injection AND aftermarket heads to maximum benefit.

If you are still using the factory heads, then a ported factory Crossfire manifold should still work reasonably well. When you change out to heads with larger intake ports there is a real problem with the factory Crossfire intake manifold - it lacks the room to be ported to a sufficient size.

Of course you could always seek out one of the old Chevrolet/Edelbrock Z28 302 cross-ram intakes. Or for a fraction of what that will cost, you can go with the X-Ram. The X-Ram, with the factory Crossfire fuel injection throttle bodies, at least has the general appearance of looking like it belongs (until you get close). Yes, the X-Ram is probably not going to have the same ultimate power potential as the old Z28 cross ram intake.
