Default comp questions.

On a N/A engine with alu heads and lt4 hotcam. Is 10.7 to much comp? Om looking for new pistons, and as im not going to spray or do any kind of F/I I thought I would get som small dome pistons instead of flat. And perhaps gain som hp.

Thanks

My 1st and 2nd 383 had 10.5 :1 compression. The latest one has 10.7:1. I have always run 92 or 93 octane fuel with no problems. Until lately, I ran the stock programming as well. Alot of guys run much more. 10.7 is good

As it was explained to me, domed pistons are inefficient. The flame has a hard time coming across the piston top. Some builders like flat tops and some like dished. Your cylinder head will likely decide which is best for you. In my case, my 383 has a 59cc chamber in the head, a 9.0 cc gasket and approx 13 or so cc's in the piston (at tdc) .

Default What is the cam spec

You really need to know what your dynamic compression is depending on your cam spec, at what point does the intake valve close. Static compression is only good for sitting still
